As 2014 came to an end, InvestorPlace.com ran an article about high dividend energy stocks. They chose 3 companies they felt wouldn't be at much risk should oil prices remain low during 2015 (and which should do quite well if oil prices rebound).

Speaking of Dividend Champions, David Fish of Moneypaper wrote an article called These 11 Dividend Champions Could Soon Hike Their Payouts. His research shows that most Champions announce dividend increases about the same time each year, typically within 2-60 days before the ex-dividend date. 90% of the time these dividend increases can be predicted.

Normally, a company's stock price reacts positively to an increase in the dividend. So, if you can predict the increase 90% of the time, why not get in now, before the increase? And, since we like covered calls, why not write some calls on them to increase your income and reduce risk even more?
