Extended Business Description
Prospect Capital Corp., a business development company, invests in middle-market companies primarily located in the US and Canada, with an EBITDA of $5 to $150 million, revenues up to $750 million and enterprise values of less than $1 billion. The fund targets companies operating in the fields of manufacturing, industrials, energy, business services, financial services, food, healthcare, and media, as well as many other sectors. It invests primarily in the form of first-lien & second-lien senior loans and mezzanine debt for refinancing, LBOs, acquisitions, recapitalizations and later-stage growth capital requirements with an investment size ranging from $20 to $400 million or more. It acquires controlling interests and also makes co-investments. It invests in the equity and subordinated debt tranches of collateralized loan obligations (CLOs).
